Monmouth, and have been breeding horses for nearly 40 years. Originally
breeding Welsh Cobs and Welsh Ponies, and with the introduction of

Lan Garth Stud
was founded by Mrs Dorothy Evans and her daughter Mrs
Deidre Powell in the 1960’s and they have now been joined by Mrs Evans's
granddaughter Judith Powell. As well as taking an active part in the
stud duties, riding and competing with the Stallions and Young stock,
Judith was the Young Ambassador for the Welsh Pony and Cob Society in
2006 and represented the Society both in the U.K. and abroad. Mrs
Dorothy Evans, in recognition to her long interest in the breeding quality
Welsh Ponies and Cobs was made an Honorary Life Member of the
Welsh Pony and Cob Society and she took a keen interest in Stud matters
until her recent death in Easter 2010.
